Celtic Project Update from Head Teacher

Categories: School News

Please find below links that mention the school partnership with Celtic.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for continuing to make this partnership a recognised success. I am well aware and very grateful for all of the hard work which staff, at all levels, put in to support this initiative.  It's very pleasing to see in the press and Celtic website that praise for the school and partnership comes right from the very top from Celtic's Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell.

Youthlink Worker of the Year Award Success

Categories: School News

This year’s Youthlink Youth Worker of the Year Awards saw a member of our school community being recognised for the great work they do with our young people. Bill Reside is a Youth Provision Development worker who has been a partner to our school for a number of years. Bill’s work with our young people includes leading outdoor learning, delivering Wider Achievement awards and coordinating volunteering elements of the curriculum. A well known face to all, Bill spends time working with our young people helping them to recognise the great potential they have and building confidence in their abilities.

The awards ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow and Bill was accompanied by our Head Teacher Paul McLaughlin, Head Girl Erin Gallacher, Head Boy Ryan Brodie and Mr McEwan, Head of S6.  Mr McLaughlin said of Bill’s achievement:

"We are delighted that Bill has been recognised for the great work he does with us and other groups in our area. He plays a key role in many of our young peoples’ lives and is a true partner to us and a valued member of our school community”

Bill was overwhelmed with his award and recognised our school in accepting it.

“I am very proud to have won this award and it was only made possible because of the ethos of the school itself.  St Ninian's is a credit to Mr McLaughlin, the staff and pupils. Even my colleagues recognise it's a unique place to work in and we don't experience that uniqueness in other schools.”
