New York 2013

On 9th February 2013, 16 pupils and 3 teachers departed Glasgow airport where they embarked on a 6 hour journey to Newark airport in New York. The main aim of the trip was to visit the United Nations headquarters. The group were taken on a tour and got the opportunity to learn about the main reasons the United Nations was put in place.

While visiting the city, the pupils also got the opportunity to visit important landmarks; including the empire state building, the statue of liberty and also the Rockefeller centre. All of these were amazing, however, nothing compared to the Lion King on Broadway. Everyone was very impressed as it was an outstanding show. On the last few days the group got to focus on shopping, from 5th Avenue to Times Square, many things were bought. On the final day the group went to visit central park and the sun came out! Overall this trip was very beneficial and the pupils would like to thank Miss Miller, Mr Sheerin and Ms McHugh for giving us the opportunity to visit such an amazing city and to our parents/guardians who supported us along the way.
