On Friday 22nd February, Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East MP, Gregg McClymont visited the Modern Studies department to take part in a questions and answers sessions with our S3 and S5/6 classes. Topics that were discussed ranged from facilities within Kirkintilloch for young people to lowering the voting age. The school would like to thank Gregg for visiting the pupils and in particular the time he spent with Advanced Higher pupils on their dissertations.

Within the school this week marks the final week of campaigning for our pupils who are entering the East Dunbartonshire Youth Council and Scottish Youth Council elections which will be taking place across the authority. Our 5 pupils who are running for the EDYC election are Lewis Campbell S1, Emma Kilbride S3, Owen Fyfe S3, Lewis Devoy S5 and Sam Donaghey S6. Lewis Devoy and Sam Donaghey are also running for the SYP. The school wishes all the candidates well. You can view their manifestos on the Young Scot website http://www.youngscot.org/local/east-dunbartonshire.
