Thomas Muir Competition Winner Gabi Henderson

Pupils from St Ninian's art department took part in the East Dunbartonshire Thomas Muir Portrait competition. Bethan Rowan, Sarah McMahon and Gabi Henderson were finalists in the S5/6 category and Jeremy

 

Phillips, Crystal Limjap and Lisa Michelini were the finalists in the S3/4 category. Jeremy Philips went on to win the S3/4 category and Gabi Henderson was the overall winner of the competition. Her piece of artwork will be gifted to the Scottish parliament and be put on permanent display in parliament building.

                                   

Wider Achievement in Art - Kirsty Thomson

Kirsty has exhibited two pieces of her artwork in the Auld Kirk Museum.The drawing of the lion was quickly snapped up during the
exhibition.

During the summer Kirsty attended a residential art course in Ardentinny where she was able to further develop her art. Her final piece was displayed for a week in Tramway Visual Arts Studio in Glasgow.

 

Kirsty recently received an East Dunbartonshire Council  Achievement Award for her dedication to art. For twenty weeks,  that started in October 2015, she will be attending a weekend portfolio course at Tramway.
