Active Schools

East Dunbartonshire Active Schools

The East Dunbartonshire Active Schools team is part of a national network of people working within the schools and the wider community. The goal of the team is to offer all children and young people the motivation and opportunities to ‘get active’ ensuring there are more and higher quality opportunities for all children to participate in sport within schools and to increase capacity through the recruitment of a network of volunteers, who in turn deliver activity sessions in schools.

The team increase the number of opportunities for all children to get engaged in sport and also try to build bridges with sports clubs and other community organisations to give pupils a ‘pathway’ to continue their participation in sport outside of the school gates.

School to Club Links
Active Schools work within the wider community in order to provide children and young people a pathway for their participation in sport and physical activity.

We form links and partnerships with local community clubs to strengthen these pathways and providing sustainable school to club programmes.

Volunteering
Active Schools have a variety of opportunities to suit everyone - no matter your interest, availability or experience.  From coaching to administration to supervision and more!  No experience is necessary.

Active Schools will provide continued support and guidance and in return volunteers are offered the chance to gain further training and qualifications.
