3/S4 Curriculum
Pupils have been working in Drama in S2 following units that have assessed the basic rules of drama (mime, voice etc).

Pupils will be developing skills required to achieve National 4 in S3 where they will be assessed in knowledge and understanding of drama and production skills.

Added Value Unit – Drama Performance

The general aim of this Unit is to enable the learner to provide evidence of added value for the Drama (National 4) Course through the successful completion of a performance which will allow the learner to demonstrate application and challenge.

This course will be aimed at pupils who normally follow an Intermediate 1 Course in S3. It is hoped that it will prepare them for National 5 in S4 (2013-2014).

2013/14
Pupils will be developing skills required to achieve National 5 in S4 where they will be assessed in knowledge and understanding of drama and production skills.

· National 5 provides progression to the Higher Course to develop learners’ ability to appreciate drama within its social, cultural and historic contexts

· National 5 builds on the experiences and outcomes

· National 5 offers opportunities for personalisation and choice to study different themes and contexts

· National 5 offers learners the opportunity to develop their individual creativity and to use new technologies

· National 5 will be benchmarked against Intermediate 2

Interdisciplinary Learning
The S3 course will continue to build on links with other department for example the Art department will be working with Drama to create a piece for the celebrations during Chinese New Year. These links will benefit pupils preparing for aspects of the Drama unit and the assignments as they will help increase the opportunities for learner’s personalisation and choice.
